We invest in the spiritual formation of ministry leaders and their spouses.
Jamin and Kristin
We have been doing this together for over twenty years. God has graced us with countless opportunities to invest in the spiritual formation of ministry leaders and their spouses. Until now, this ministry has been expressed in the context of the local church, spiritual retreats, the classroom, and over coffee. We believe God is inviting us to give ourselves to this work with focus and intentionality.
We are graced by God to do this work together. We bring wisdom to this work that can only be gained from two decades of service in local church ministry. We have personally experienced the unique joys and challenges of ministry life. We understand the importance of creating compassionate and confidential spaces for ministry leaders and their spouses. We engage this work with a theological rigor that is the fruit of decades of theological training. We are committed to a Protestant-evangelical vision of the Christian life that is shaped by decades of formal theological education.
God has graced us with four delightful children who are each discovering what it means to abide in Christ at various stages of life. We live on five acres of uniquely beautiful land in North County San Diego. We hope you will find your way to us soon. Come take a walk along the creek, rest under the towering oaks, and sit among the beautiful rose gardens.
Jamin
An Associate Professor of Christian Ministry and Leadership and the Director of the Pastoral Care program at Talbot School of Theology. He served as a local church pastor for twenty years in small churches and mega-churches, mainline denominations and non-denominational contexts. Jamin holds an MA in New Testament, an MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care, and a PhD in Systematic Theology. He is the author of numerous books including Pastoral Confessions and The Way of the Dragon or the Way of the Lamb.
Kristin
A homeschool mother of four who also serves as a director of a homeschool charter program. She served alongside Jamin in the local church for twenty years in a wide variety of ministry capacities. She holds an MA in Education, and is currently earning her Doctor of Ministry from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University.
Vision
We envision a generation of ministry leaders who are deeply rooted in the love of Christ and enduringly produce the fruit of that love in the various contexts of their unique calling.
Our Values
Prayerful
We believe God is the primary actor in the Christian life. Simply put, apart from him we can do nothing (John 15:5). Consequently, we are committed to nurturing a life of prayerfulness in the life of ministry leaders. Prayer is the primary means of grace by which we abide in God’s love and participate in his work in our lives.
Personal
We believe God’s gracious work is mediated through personal relationships. Simply put, the care of God is known in the care of one another (1 Cor. 12:25). Consequently, we are committed to offering the gift of presence to ministry leaders. Our ministry values embodied attentive care.
Developmental
We believe spiritual formation is a developmental process directed by God. In short, our lives are marked by seasons (Eccl. 3:1). Attending to God’s work in the various seasons of our lives requires prayerful discernment. Consequently, we are committed to partnering with ministry leaders as co-discerners of God’s unique work in their lives.
Proactive
We believe God is calling ministry leaders to faithfully persevere in their vocation. In short, they are called to finish the race God has set before them (2 Tim. 4:7). Consequently, we are committed to equipping ministry leaders to remain above reproach and to run with endurance. We provide the proactive care necessary to avoid moral failure and burn out.
